This month I will be trying something new. I’ve come up with seven topics to cover on a weekly basis: Must-Have Mondays– from fashion, to beauty, to home decor; I will post several items that I’d love to purchase … Continue reading →
I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair of blush pink cropped pants for spring. I have my eyes on a pair from J. Crew, but have decided to wait until hr2 opens this April as I know they will … Continue reading →
Easter is just around the corner, and hopefully the warmer weather for Toronto too. My family usually gets together on the Sunday for a lovely dinner and egg-cracking games. I like to keep it simple and often find myself wearing … Continue reading →
As most of you may know, World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto started yesterday. I do not have the opportunity to attend this year, but am looking forward to reading the reviews from fellow bloggers. If I were to attend, … Continue reading →
Sleeping is one of my favourite things to do. I adore sleeping in and lounging around the house in my pjs, reading magazines, novels or watching movies. I probably own over 20 pairs of pyjamas, but always resort to my … Continue reading →
Spring does not appear to be on its way here in Toronto. I woke up this morning not wanting to get out of my pjs and feeling miserable because it was so dark and cold outside. The minute I got home today, I threw on my J. Crew checkered pyjama set (similar to this), robe and warm socks and ducked under the covers in my bedroom with my laptop. A perfect night to watch it snow, and some of my favourite episodes of Sex and the City.
Healthy movie/TV time snack.
One of my favourite episodes. I love this dress on her. I’d love one for myself.
Yes, the second movie wasn’t amazing, but the fashion was superb. After seeing this movie, I fell for the Halston Heritage label. I purchased the same dress SJP wore in the movie here and many other fabulous finds that I’ll be posting in the warmer months.
I’ve been looking for the perfect leather skirt for ages. I love the leather look and want to add a skirt, pants and shorts to my collection. I already own a gorgeous brown leather jacket, but who doesn’t want a black one too? I’m still on the hunt for these items, but here are some of my favourite styles:
Last week, I mentioned how excited I was to go to the market on Saturday, here, but instead was lucky enough to get a wonderful allergic reaction. I spent most of my Saturday sleeping in and taking antihistamines. Sunday however, was a beautiful sunny (but cold) day spent watching an Irish movie (The Wind that Shakes the Barley) and grabbing a Guinness at the Irish Embassy in the spirit of St. Paddy’s Day. Dinner on Sunday was superb. If you live in Toronto, you must check out my favourite soup and sandwich spot, Ravi Soups.
Hope you all had a wonderful St. Paddy’s Day!
I’m the fruit queen. I always love munching on fruit while watching movies.
My morning ritual: a cup of green tea.
March 2013 magazine collection. Checking out the spring trends
Did you know oranges help relieve stress?
Guinness at the Irish Embassy on St. Paddy’s Day.
How cool are my Obama socks?
Last week, I bought my first two pairs of True Religion jeans. They are SO comfortable.
Every Friday, I go to the market with my boyfriend for breakfast. I usually work on Saturdays teaching at a heritage Saturday school and never get a chance to attend the farmer’s market, as it is only run on Saturdays. This Saturday, I don’t have to teach because of the March Break, and am looking forward to a morning at the market. The St. Lawrence Market in Toronto is one of my favourite places to visit. I can remember being there as a child during the holidays, munching away at the free samples. They’ve got great meat, fruits and vegetable vendors and great places to eat (Buster’s Sea Cove, being my favourite). I find that it’s always best to be comfortable when at the market and to bring eco-friendly shopping bags. My go-to market outfit is almost always boyfriend jeans, loafers, sneakers or moccasins, and a comfy t-shirt, tank, long-sleeve or sweatshirt (depending on the weather). Here’s at look at what I’d wear:
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. This year, the Spring 2013 Fashion Week trends included this rich emerald green colour; also extremely appropriate for St. Paddy’s Day. It doesn’t mean you have to go all out and wear head-to-toe in green, but rather, picking one piece and pairing it with black, white or whatever colour you choose.
My two favourites from this selection are the See by Chloe silk top and Equipment blouse. I love pieces that can be dressed up or down and I can picture both of these with dressy leggings, dress pants, jeans or even shorts. Versatility is key.
*This Valentino dress is simply stunning. I love the cut, design and the elegant lace layer. The back of the dress is to die for! I’d love it in black as well!
