Easter is just around the corner, and hopefully the warmer weather for Toronto too. My family usually gets together on the Sunday for a lovely dinner and egg-cracking games. I like to keep it simple and often find myself wearing … Continue reading →
As most of you may know, World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto started yesterday. I do not have the opportunity to attend this year, but am looking forward to reading the reviews from fellow bloggers. If I were to attend, … Continue reading →
Sleeping is one of my favourite things to do. I adore sleeping in and lounging around the house in my pjs, reading magazines, novels or watching movies. I probably own over 20 pairs of pyjamas, but always resort to my … Continue reading →
Spring does not appear to be on its way here in Toronto. I woke up this morning not wanting to get out of my pjs and feeling miserable because it was so dark and cold outside. The minute I got home today, I threw on my J. Crew checkered pyjama set (similar to this), robe and warm socks and ducked under the covers in my bedroom with my laptop. A perfect night to watch it snow, and some of my favourite episodes of Sex and the City.
Healthy movie/TV time snack.
One of my favourite episodes. I love this dress on her. I’d love one for myself.
Yes, the second movie wasn’t amazing, but the fashion was superb. After seeing this movie, I fell for the Halston Heritage label. I purchased the same dress SJP wore in the movie here and many other fabulous finds that I’ll be posting in the warmer months.
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. This year, the Spring 2013 Fashion Week trends included this rich emerald green colour; also extremely appropriate for St. Paddy’s Day. It doesn’t mean you have to go all out and wear head-to-toe in green, but rather, picking one piece and pairing it with black, white or whatever colour you choose.
My two favourites from this selection are the See by Chloe silk top and Equipment blouse. I love pieces that can be dressed up or down and I can picture both of these with dressy leggings, dress pants, jeans or even shorts. Versatility is key.
*This Valentino dress is simply stunning. I love the cut, design and the elegant lace layer. The back of the dress is to die for! I’d love it in black as well!
Unlike limoncello liqueur, this colour doesn’t just come out after dinner. This spring, bright and bold colours are very in. It doesn’t mean you’re to wear yellow pants with a yellow shirt, shoes and a clutch, but rather, making one piece the accent of your ensemble. There are some really great pieces popping up in this limoncello yellow colour that would definitely brighten up your spring wardrobe. Here are some ideas:
Chambray shirts are great. They’re a lightweight material that can be dressed up or down; worn with heels, flats or sneakers. I bought my first chambray shirt three years ago from J. Crew and it’s been worn many times with heels or converse, under sweaters and with t-shirts. Today, it’s really easy to find chambray shirts everywhere from Urban Behaviour to Holt Renfrew.
My favourite look is when a chambray shirt has its sleeves rolled up and is tucked into white jeans and paired with clunky brown heeled sandals.
Here are some chambray shirts I’d love to purchase:
Rainy days always emanate a comfortable and cozy vibe. Waking up this morning was difficult, but it was one of those days where wearing leggings or jean leggings and a long cozy sweater was appropriate.
When wearing a cozy jumper/sweater, I like to pair it with a crisp white shirt left untucked as it provides a relaxed look. I usually wear a darker coloured sweater, but to brighten up a gloomy day, I might wear a lighter colour (mint green, blush pink, tiffany blue).
I also love wearing leggings. I usually use this same look, but instead of wearing jeans, I wear these.
I slept in this morning hitting the snooze button several times (snooze buttons shouldn’t exist or I need to put my alarm clock on the other side of my room). It was very gloomy and rainy outside, but I always love dressing for rainy weather. I look forward to pulling out my Hunter boots, stripes (the one and only Hudson’s Bay umbrella) and a cozy sweater. Here’s what I’d wear on a rainy day:
I haven’t found a trench coat yet, but I love wearing Hunter boots and twirling my Hudson’s Bay Company Collection umbrella on a rainy day.
Classic black rain boots are always a great addition to your rainy day outfit, but to brighten up your day, you may want to choose a colourful pair. I have a silver metallic pair of rain boots from Hunter (I snagged them on clearance from Holt Renfrew Last Call 5 years ago for $60!).
