White Out!

White Out!

White is definitely my #1 choice for spring/summer. It’s refreshing and crisp and screams clean. In the warmer months I’m often found wearing white jeans or shorts with white tanks. I find it makes my usually pale skin look a … Continue reading

W2W: to a Small Theatre Production

Tonight I’m meeting up with a close friend for dinner and drinks and then going to see Race (starring the dreamy Jason Priestley). I always struggle with what to wear to a theatre production as I usually feel extremely overdressed. … Continue reading

Green with Envy

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. This year, the  Spring 2013 Fashion Week trends included this rich emerald green colour; also extremely appropriate for St. Paddy’s Day. It doesn’t mean you have to go all out and wear head-to-toe in green, but rather, picking one piece and pairing it with black, white or whatever colour you choose. Green With Envy
  1.  Equipment, Fern Green Signature Silk Shirt, $325
  2. Vionnet, Casual Pants, $930
  3. MCQ Alexander McQueen, Goldtone Stud Leather Ballerina, $385
  4. Diane von Furstenburg, New Cahil Dress, $225
  5. MCQ Alexander McQueen, Studded Pointed Leather Pumps, $470
  6. See by Chloe, Silk Top, $135
  7. J. Crew, Miri Mid-heel Suede Pumps, $196
  8. Topshop, Knitted Mix Stitch Sweater, $55
  9. Valentino, Emerald Backless Lace Dress, $6140

My two favourites from this selection are the See by Chloe silk top and Equipment blouse. I love pieces that can be dressed up or down and I can picture both of these with dressy leggings, dress pants, jeans or even shorts. Versatility is key.

*This Valentino dress is simply stunning. I love the cut, design and the elegant lace layer. The back of the dress is to die for! I’d love it in black as well!

Bee Meets Sea

Cobalt blue is one of my favourite colours in my wardrobe, and it looks great on blondes. I’m also a fan of limoncello yellow for spring (mentioned here). These two colours combined with black create a bold and classy statement.

Lemonyello 2

  1. Forever 21, Cable Knit Black Sweater, $23
  2. Topshop, Tapered Peg Trousers, $43
  3. Loft, Petra Colour Pop Pointy-Toe Pumps, $65

Total: $131

Bee Meets Sea

  1. Vince, Cotton Slub Knit, $140
  2. Vince, Silk Cargo Pocket Crop Trousers, $115
  3. Manolo Blahnik, Bb Patent Pointed-Toe Pump, $660 (sold out)

Total: $915

I think my favourite part of this outfit is the shoe. I like to wear a lot of black, and feel that bright coloured shoes make a great statement (ie. you have great taste in shoes). These limoncello yellow pumps brighten up the outfit and combined with a cobalt blue top, attract the eye to the whole outfit. Your audience (classmates, the public, coworkers, boyfriend) will take a good look at all of you and won’t just focus their attention to your shirt (breasts?) or shoes.
